Can you believe I used to have a crush on this woman?

"Niggers put the noose on"
A group of white Louisiana college students dressed in mud and reenacted the Jena 6 assault while a friend snapped photos and videotaped it. Images and videos were later posted to one of the participant's Facebook page. The photos were taken late last month on the bank of the Ouachita River, where students from the University of Louisiana at Monroe giddily acted out the racial attack. The photos and video were posed on the facebook page of Kristy Smith, a freshman nursing student. The album of images was entitled "The Jena 6 on the River."
In the video, three students with mud smeared across their bodies stomp on a fourth student, while two of the participants are heard to say, "Jena 6." One man can also be heard saying, "Nigger put the noose on."
After the video and photos on Smith's page were discovered by fellow students, she removed the material and made her Facebook page private. Smith, who did not respond to a The Smoking Gun e-mail sent to her school address, apologized for the images in several recent Facebook postings.
"We were just playin n the mud and it got out of hand. I promise i'm not racist. i have just as many black friends as i do white. And i love them to death," she wrote. When faced with heated online criticism from fellow students, Smith yanked the photos and video from Facebook, but not before one student downloaded the photos and another videotaped the video directly from her computer screen (and then posted the clip on YouTube).

White McDonald's patrons attack Black customer
It's really sad when Fox News is the one keeping it "real" on this.

Revisionist History
I am pissed.
I can't help it if I wanted to.
I wouldn't help it if I could.
I feel like I am watching a horrific car wreck in super slow motion. I see it happening but no matter what I do or say, the impact is inevitable.
American Idle, talk shows, "reality TV" have made us a culture of vouyers. We watch and watch and watch. Illegal wars, drugs in our neighborhoods, overt and covert racism, rape, abuse and murder. Our government has been stolen and we all know it. Our culture has been stolen and we still bob our heads and shake our collective asses.
In my lifetime they have re-written the history of slavery.
Now it isn't the vicious brutality of the evil white man, as much as evil Black people "who sold their own people"
We are too quick to forget history.
Which makes it too easy for them to re-write it.
We are too quick to forgive our enemies.
Which makes it easy for them to redefine themselves.
How can you hate Fox News but still love Fox?
How can you hate the homofication of the Black Man in hip-hop and R&B and still celebrate every whiteboy that decides he wants to sing and dance with us?
This is serious. If not James Byrd Jr, if not Amadou Diallo, Sean Bell, Tyisha Miller, Isiah Washington, The Jena 6, Asata Shakur, Haiti, Iraq, Liberia, Palestine, Cosmo Kramer, or every living white person telling you to "get over it"...
What the f-word is it going to take?
Every night ain't a party.
We can't spend every other day sitting cross legged in semi-circles reading poetry and telling each other how talented we are.
Re-define us.
I can't help it if I wanted to.

The Good Reverend writes to his flock:
When a nation is on the brink of war, the worst thing its citizens can do is allow themselves to become divided. The Bible says that there is a time for war and a time for peace (Ecclesiastes 3:8). In fact, Jesus said that in the last days there would be wars and rumors of wars (Matthew 24:6). When this country was attacked on September 11, 2001, there was a fierce public outcry. America wanted her enemies to pay. Now, two years later, those same Americans are protesting the war against terrorism.
President Bush is worthy of your prayers and support. He is a man who rises early every morning to seek God and His wisdom through prayer and the study of the Word. This is not the time for Christians to picket, carry protest signs or throw their opinions around. The election is over, and the man in the Oval Office is the one we, as Americans, voted in. Numbers 32:7-13 makes it clear how God feels about a nation divided during a time of war.
This country needs unity, and it begins with the church. It is your responsibility as a believer to pray for the president, others in leadership, this nation, the men and women serving in the Armed Forces and our enemies--whoever they may be. Forget about your political affiliation or preference. You are first and foremost a Christian.

Mike Vick is the Worst Human Being since Hitler
I'm not saying too much about it.
Not gonna blog or respond to blogs beyond this.
In the end, what it comes down to, is "Michael Vick broke the law"
No matter how you feel about dogs, or athletes, Black people or celebrities, he broke the law, and that is the simplest argument to make.
I, for one, certainly hope that this unilateral Zero Tolerance Policy on law breaking extends to white celebrities AND the coon/sambo Black artists they love to push on us.
ALL RAPPERS ARRESTED ON ILLEGAL GUN and DRUG charges must face jail time. Bye bye, Snoop. Remember Puffy and JLo involved in a shooting, then RUNNING from police, and busted with a loaded weapon? Lock 'em up.
ALL BUBBLE GUM POP CELEBRITIES ARRESTED ON DUI CHARGES must face jail time. It's against the law.
Paris Hilton? Lindsay Lohan? Mel Gibson? Vivica Fox? Nicole Richie? Ty Pennington from Extreme Makeover? Tracy Morgan? George Michael? Method Man? Crooked wig Eve? Make them face jail just like we would. They broke the law.
More than anything else... If you are one of the many, many people who are outraged about the killing of poor, innocent dogs, I certainly hope that you are at least AS outraged (if not more) about the murder, torture, rape, and displacement that is happening to hundreds of millions of people in Palestine, Sudan, Liberia, Haiti, Iraq, Afghanistan, and countless other places around the world.
I hope that your outrage stretches to human fucking beings.
I understand, I understand. People in those countries may be a little to "ethnic" to elicit sympathies, it's hard to humanize them. So at least let your anger and intolerance for injustice reach people in this country.
Remember NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA?
Oops. Probably still too "brown"
If nothing else, the people responsible for the deaths of thousands of American lives, among them, good white Americans. You with me now?
The people responsible for the deaths of over 3000 Americans on September 11, 2001.
The people responsible for the deaths of almost 4000 Americans in the illegal war in Iraq.
The people responsible for the mutilation and permanent injury of over 20,000 Americans, many with arms and legs blown off, eyes missing. This doesn't count Gulf War Syndrome or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
I hope that you can save some finger wagging to go all the way around.

Please don't laugh at Helen Keller jokes.
Laughter has gotten me through a pretty rough weekend. People were weird. I was weird. People showed up that I didn't expect, some that I didn't welcome. Even my broad shoulders can bear only so much weight. Enough was enough.
So that lasted, I dunno, a few hours. I turned off my phone, my computer, effectively shutting myself off from folks. And I would have been content to be in a foul mood, if not for the wonder of On Demand.
I turned on a flick called The Matador, with Pierce Brosnan and Greg Kinnear. I laughed until I cried tears. I swear, the movie is on par with Coming to America. And once I laughed I was fine.
After, Necessary Roughness came on HBO. Scott Bakula, Sinbad, football and the style of 1991. I was done. I was back.
Anyways.... Today was a pretty productive day, and throughout the day into the evening, I spent time trying to recall the funniest things ever. What's the funniest thing I've ever heard?
If you know me, if you have spent any time with me, then it's pretty likely that we've sat somewhere, probably around a table, putting our lives on the line, talking, laughing, holding our stomachs, choking and almost dying.
But what was it? I remember the laughter, but not the punchline.
Back in high school, my high school clique, The Lunch Mobb would organize "You Sit Down, You Get Clowned", usually after school at Sizzler. The rules were simple. You sit down. You get clowned. And it was the funniest thing ever. The Dozens times infinity, cuz a lot of it was real.
"Man, shuddup. You can't talk, you got doused with milk in the cafeteria during lunch. MILK CHECK, BIOTCH!"
This would continue until we were nauseous from eating waaaaay too much all-you-can-eat shrimp, and laughing hysterically for hours upon end.
Yeah, we were savage.

This is a photo from the infamous Winter Ball.
The moment it was over.... It Was On.
Nation's Restaurant. In suits. With dates. Clowning.
And I know I have never laughed so hard in my life. I still laugh now thinking about it, but I can't remember what the hell was said, other than that the humor was at somebody else's expense.
In LA. In Oakland. In Chicago, New York, Vegas. Philly, Cairo, Barcelona.
Since I can't remember what was said, I figured I'd type out something you should NEVER laugh at.
Helen Keller jokes. Not as bad as dead baby jokes.
If you laugh at these, you are going to hell. If you even snicker. Over.
Remember, don't laugh.

Just say NO to Starbucks
Dear Starbucks Customer,
First and foremost I want to thank you for making Starbucks the $6.4 billion global company it is today, with more than 90,000 employees, 9,700 stores, and 33 million weekly customers. Every latte and macchiato you drink at Starbucks is a contribution to the close alliance between the United States and Israel, in fact it is - as I was assured when being honored with the "Israel 50th Anniversary Friend of Zion Tribute Award" - key to Israel's long-term PR success. Your daily Chocolate Chips Frappucino helps paying for student projects in North America and Israel, presenting them with the badly needed Israeli perspective of the Intifada.

Starbucks, through the Jerusalem Fund of Aish HaTorah, an international network of Jewish education centres, sponsors Israeli military arms fairs in an effort to strengthen the special connection between the American, European and Israeli defense industries and to showcase the newest Israeli innovations in defense. As my contribution to the fight against the global rise of anti-Semitism, the reason behind the current conflict in the Middle-East, I help Aish HaTorah sponsoring the website "honestreporting.com" and produce material informing of Israel's side of the story.
Without you, my valued customer, I wouldn't be able to raise hundreds of millions of dollars each year to protect Israeli citizens from terrorist attacks and keep reminding every Jew in America, to defend Israel at any cost. $5 billion per year from the US government are no way near enough to pay for all the weaponry, bulldozers and security fences needed to protect innocent Israeli citizens from anti-Semitic Muslim terrorism. Corporate sponsorships are essential.
Having the bigger picture in mind, Starbucks have donated a store to the US army to help in the "War on Terror". I cannot emphasize enough, how vital the "War on Terror" is for the continued viability and prospering of the Jewish State.
So next time you feel like chilling out at a Starbucks store, please remember that with every cup you drink at Starbucks you are helping with a noble cause.

Oh, Obama...
Dear Obama,
You might got the whole world fooled, but you ain't fooling me, baby. Apparently I am the only person in Amerikkka who remembers that you are a politician. Your job is to lie and steal and sneak and make promises that you will never fill. Maybe it's because you're Black, maybe it's because you're young and somewhat studly, but whatever the reason, it makes me hopeful for myself.
For if you, the man who has voted in support of the PATRIOT Act, Volume 2, the man who has voted to INCREASE spending on illegal and immoral wars in Iraq, Afghanistan, and on other Colored peoples of the world.... If you can be a serious candidate for President of These United States of America...
My plan for world domination will go way easier than planned.
I will admit, you had me fooled at one time. For a brief moment in your short career, I thought maybe you might be on the "right side" of the issues most of us care about most.
Once, I caught a quote from you that made me stop in my tracks. You said:
"No one is suffering more than the Palestinian people."
I was stuck. Was I going to have to jump on the Obamawagon? Would I have to eat crow? Cuz if any politician was willing to stand up against the powerful Israeli lobby and the Jew-run media, I was gonna have to be on the front lines standing with him.
But... you only stood by that statement for a short time, didn't you? For when you were asked to clarify what you meant, you said this:
You suck. I hope your wife cheats on you and gives you an STD that burns every time you pee.
Why do I even pretend to be surprised? Your top campaign contributors THUS FAR include:
UBS Americas $162,200
Exelon Corp $159,800
Goldman Sachs $146,100
Sidley Austin LLP $105,750
Jenner & Block $81,322
Jones, Day et al $76,000
Kirkland & Ellis $72,251
Time Warner $63,300
Williams & Connolly $58,350
Harvard University $57,500
Citigroup Inc $56,000
Credit Suisse Securities $47,500
Skadden, Arps et al $43,550
WilmerHale $41,950
Morgan Stanley $41,850
Level 3 Communications $38,900
Viacom Inc $38,700
Lehman Brothers $38,400
Ariel Capital Management $37,900
Pajcic & Pajcic $36,800
Why do we even pretend to be surprised, Obama baby? All it takes it a few minutes of Google to find out who owns you.
Yes, you are a Black Man, but so is Master Pee, so is Ward Coonerly, so is Jessie Lee Peterson. So are Clarence Thomas and Colin Powell. And none of y'all stand for what I believe in.
==========================================================
2010 Edit
This post hurt my friends' hearts
One person said: "Obama has raised over $58 million to date. In fact, over 258,000 people have donated (some as little as $5). NO candidate ever has had that amount of people supporting them this early in the race."
I said: "Vanilla Ice once had the biggest selling rap album of ALL time.
More people vote for American Idle than for American Elections.
77% (or more) of THIS country supported the illegal invasion of Iraq
Popularity is no indication of quality."
Another: "Smh OK...so of all the presidential canidates...and you HAD(as in muhphuka you gotta picc) to choose ONE..who would you choose?
Point being, is there a canidate who has touched you to a point of being more qualified and more suitable for the title? If no one is, and you had no choice but to choose one, who would that one be and why?"
Me: "If at gunpoint, I had to pick a candidate (because I plan to not vote and would encourage others to do the same), I would vote for Dennis Kucinich."
She returns: "Why have you chosen to single out ONE presidential canidate? Where's the comparisons of negativety of each? Or was there one who DOES represent what you believe in?..if not, then why aren't they represented by their own special blog as well?
Or did you feel the need to make a special "stand-out" point with the him because he happened to be born black?
Can I get adleast ONE rebuttaled canidate from the republican side? Or does singling out the black presidential canidate suit your point better?"
Skillfully, I fire back: "Easy answer.
Because there is no need to compare candidates. There is only ONE candidate that the masses believe is "The Answer" to all of life's problems walking and talking.
If a wack Republican gets into office, people still keep their fire.
If a wack Democrat gets into office, people go to sleep.
Everybody knows that if Hillary is elected she will blow up the world.
People think that Obama is the godchild of Martin Luther King, Jr, and is 1/4 Jesus H. Christ.
Until "we" are willing to stand up against wackism in these DEMONcrats, they will have no reason to improve on the issues we care about. Obama will not pull our well-established military out of the Middle East, Obama will not cut military spending, Obama will not lower our nuclear arsenal, BECAUSE HE HAS NOT VOTED TO DO ANY OF THAT IN HIS TIME IN THE SENATE.
If Obama is somehow elected, it will be like OJ being found not guily, times 100.
And we will be butt-raped while smiling about it.
We need to quit supporting the lesser of evils. It's still evil."
Somebody else tries to save her: "I happen to think Obama's pretty good on the issues. Read through his website, listened to the podcasts and read quite a few speeches. He's got the right direction for this country. And in the case of igniting a fire under America's apathetic butts, it's certainty a quantifier."
But The Truth Sayer isn't fazed!: "When a President who the people are "inspired" by, but is TERRIBLE on the issues we care about, is elected, Americans go to sleep.
Look at Clinton, everybody liked him, he smoked weed, ate McDonalds, had affairs, all likable stuff in a Prez. BUT, his foreign policy was terrible, and he brought us NAFTA and the end to humane governmental assistance programs.
When you recognize the devil by his talk, his walk, and his actions, the people stay vigilant. "Liberals" and "progressives" are waiting for the day when they can stop caring about this stuff because somebody is taking care of it."
Fun times. I wish I had been wrong, though.
You might got the whole world fooled, but you ain't fooling me, baby. Apparently I am the only person in Amerikkka who remembers that you are a politician. Your job is to lie and steal and sneak and make promises that you will never fill.
But... you only stood by that statement for a short time, didn't you? For when you were asked to clarify what you meant, you said this:
"What I said is nobody has suffered more than the Palestinian people from the failure of the Palestinian leadership to recognize Israel, to renounce violence, and to get serious about negotiating peace and security for the region. Israel is the linchpin of much of our efforts in the Middle East."
You suck. I hope your wife cheats on you and gives you an STD that burns every time you pee.
Why do I even pretend to be surprised? Your top campaign contributors THUS FAR include:
UBS Americas $162,200
Exelon Corp $159,800
Goldman Sachs $146,100
Sidley Austin LLP $105,750
Jenner & Block $81,322
Jones, Day et al $76,000
Kirkland & Ellis $72,251
Time Warner $63,300
Williams & Connolly $58,350
Harvard University $57,500
Citigroup Inc $56,000
Credit Suisse Securities $47,500
Skadden, Arps et al $43,550
WilmerHale $41,950
Morgan Stanley $41,850
Level 3 Communications $38,900
Viacom Inc $38,700
Lehman Brothers $38,400
Ariel Capital Management $37,900
Pajcic & Pajcic $36,800
Why do we even pretend to be surprised, Obama baby? All it takes it a few minutes of Google to find out who owns you.
Yes, you are a Black Man, but so is Master Pee, so is Ward Coonerly, so is Jessie Lee Peterson. So are Clarence Thomas and Colin Powell. And none of y'all stand for what I believe in.

There, but by the Grace of God, go I
Man gunned down in busy Oakland park
Shooter approached on foot with kids, others nearby
OAKLAND — A 32-year-old man was shot to death Monday afternoon in an East Oakland park while children played nearby, police said.
The victim was identified as Corey Burts, who lived a short distance from the park at 98th Avenue and C Street where the shooting occurred about 3 p.m. Monday.
Police believe Burts was approached by someone on foot who shot at him several times, killing him instantly.
The gunman had no regard for the safety of others in the park, police said.
"There were people everywhere, kids and adults," Sgt. James Morris said. "They were out there enjoying the day until this happened."
No one else was hurt.
Police were still trying to determine a motive for the killing of Burts, who had many relatives in the area.
Morris said Burts had many friends and loved ones but also some enemies who may have surprised him at the park.
Word of the shooting spread quickly and several of Burts' relatives rushed to the scene. Some were visibly hysterical after learning he had been killed and saw a tarp covering his body in the park.
Relatives said Burts was the father of two children. The killing was Oakland's 49th homicide of the year. Last year at this time, there were 66 homicides.
Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland offer up to $10,000 in reward money for information leading to the arrest of the killer. Anyone with information can call police at 238-3821 or Crime Stoppers at 238-6946.
This story hits close to home.
I knew Corey Burts.
We weren't friends.
We didn't hang out.
I don't even know that I liked him.
Corey Burts and I attended the same elementary school, a public school in the hills of Oakland, 20 years ago.
He was one of the handful of Black kids at a school for the children of the rich. The privileged.
Sometimes he was a bully. He picked fights with kids both smaller and bigger than him.
In the fourth grade, I vividly remember him doing something that no fourth grade kid in the history of school ANYWHERE had ever had the courage to do.
He fought toe to toe with a six grader. And he won.
He also was proficient in "Yo Mama" jokes and reciting the lyrics from rappers like The Beastie Boys and Run DMC.
I remember word for word his freestyle tribute to Adidas.
"I got Adidas this,
I got Adidas that,
I got Adidas sweatsuit
And Adidas hat
I got Adidas shoes, and Adidas drawz,
I even got Adidas, on ma balls!"
I got Adidas that,
I got Adidas sweatsuit
And Adidas hat
I got Adidas shoes, and Adidas drawz,
I even got Adidas, on ma balls!"
Such was the playground legend of Corey Burts.
I didn't want to invite him to my 10th birthday party, but my mother made me. And I will never forget how happy, how excited he was to get the invitation.
I'll never forget that.
Corey's mother died when we were in the sixth grade. We all knew his mother... She was like Mabel King, the mother from "What's Happening?" She was all Corey had.
We never saw him again.
Over the years, I wondered what became of Corey Burts. Did he have some rich benefactor, like Arnold and Willis and Webster? People who take care of poor Black boys who have lost all in their life?
I doubt it.
And what have I done to continue to receive the continual Blessings from God, over and over and over in my life? What would have happened to me if I lost my mother at such a tender age?
Would I still be a brooding intellectual? Would I know then, as I know now, that I am the Center of the Universe? That the sun, the moon, the stars were all created by God to serve ME? Would I still like soymilk, sushi, or Superman?
Or would my life have taken a different path?
Corey Burts was shot and killed on the afternoon of June 25th, 2007.
I don't know enough to say he deserved a better life.
He deserved a better death.
May God forgive him his sins.
